CCTV AND VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

CCTV that gives you a usable answer

Most systems record everything and prove very little. We design every camera around a job, whether that's watching the car park, recognising someone at reception, identifying a stranger at the loading dock or reading a number plate at the gate. When you need the footage, it gives you an answer.

START WITH THE QUESTION

Every camera should be answering something

Before we specify a single camera, we ask what each one is for. Deterring theft at the loading dock. Counting people through the front door. Recognising a familiar face at reception. Reading a number plate at the boom gate. Settling an insurance claim in the car park. Giving police something they can act on.

Those are six different jobs, and each needs a different lens, position and image quality. We design to AS/NZS 62676, the Australian and New Zealand standard for video surveillance, which sets the detail a camera has to deliver for each job. A 4K camera in the wrong spot still gives you a high-definition picture of someone you can't identify.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Coverage design

Your floor plan marked up camera by camera, with the purpose and field of view for each. Blind spots are found before anything is installed.

The right camera for each spot

Dome, bullet, fisheye, multisensor, pan-tilt-zoom and thermal cameras, plus battery and 4G units for places without power or network. We specify low-light, infrared and wide dynamic range (for glare and backlight) wherever the site needs them.

Recording and retention

Recording on the camera, on a recorder or in the cloud, with a cloud backup where it makes sense. Storage is sized to a retention period you choose deliberately, and we show you the calculation.

Managed from anywhere

Every camera and site in one place, viewed securely from a browser or phone. Firmware updates happen remotely, and you get an alert if a camera goes offline.

The network underneath

Power over Ethernet switching, structured cabling and a separate network segment for your cameras, designed with Nueva Technology.

Someone watching

Optional 24×7 monitoring, video verification and virtual patrols after hours, so an alert reaches a person who can act on it.

AI ALERTS AND SEARCH

Example alert. Analytics are set up to suit each site.

Know when it matters, and find it in minutes

Cameras that only record leave someone to watch hours of footage after the event. On the platforms we supply, cameras can alert the right people as things happen: someone entering a restricted zone after hours, a vehicle where it shouldn't be, a person crossing a set line, or a camera that has been covered or moved. Alerts can also support workplace safety, such as flagging someone in a high-visibility zone without a safety vest.

When you need to look back, search by what you saw, such as a clothing colour, a bag or a vehicle, across every camera and site at once. Matching clips come back on a single timeline, so you can follow a path through the building in minutes.

Every alert is set up for a stated purpose, and a person decides what happens next.

NUMBER PLATES
Number plate recognition screen showing a car at a car park entry, the plate read, and a log of recent entries.

Every vehicle in and out, on record

Cameras at your gates and car park entries can read number plates, log every entry and exit with an image and time, and search the record later by plate. You can be alerted when a particular vehicle arrives, or check who was on site when something happened.

We set up plate recognition for a clear purpose, such as car park access, deliveries or site security, with a retention period to match.

RETENTION

How long you keep footage should follow from why you keep it

There is no general legal retention period for CCTV in Australia. For organisations covered by the Privacy Act, the requirement is to destroy or de-identify personal information once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, unless a law or court order requires you to keep it.

So retention should be a decision you make deliberately, not a default somebody set during installation. Once the period is set, the storage follows: how many cameras, at what resolution and frame rate, for how many days. We size it, show the working and leave you headroom, so the system doesn't quietly start overwriting a week early.

ARCHITECTURE

Cloud, on-premises or a bit of both

Cloud

Less equipment on site, remote access without a VPN and automatic updates, on a subscription. Ask early where the footage is stored. For government, health, education and critical infrastructure it usually matters.

On-premises

You keep control of the footage and, with some products, avoid ongoing licence fees. Patching, backups and replacing hardware become your responsibility, or ours under a managed service.

Hybrid

Footage is recorded on site and managed in the cloud. It suits many organisations with several sites.

We'll recommend the setup that fits your obligations, your team and your budget, and show you what each option costs to run over five years.

WHY NUEVA SECURE

Secured from day one

On every system we install, default passwords are removed, cameras go on their own network segment and firmware is kept current. Most installers leave this out, and it's the first thing we check on systems someone else installed.

Footage you can actually use

We test the export process, so footage reaches police or your insurer in a usable form and you can show nobody has altered it.

Privacy built in

Video is encrypted on the way to storage and while it's stored. Face blurring is available, and analytics are switched on only for the purposes you agree to.

Designed to your budget

We start with your risk and your site, then design to what you want to spend. Use a higher specification where the risk is higher and keep it simple where it isn't.

BRANDS

Not tied to one manufacturer

We work with several leading camera and cloud video platforms, and we choose the one that fits your requirements and budget. If your existing cameras are in good condition, we can often connect them to a new platform rather than replace them. When a closed system is the better answer for your site, we'll say so and explain what you give up.

Not sure what's installed today?

On many sites we find more cameras than needed in some places and none where it matters. A free site security assessment shows you which is which, with camera placement marked up on your floor plan.
