Doors and hardware
Controllers, readers, electric strikes and magnetic locks, plus exit buttons and door sensors, so the system records what actually happened, not only what was allowed.
Doors, readers and cards are the easy part. The hard part is knowing who can get in where right now, and proving that access was removed the day someone left. We design access control around that question and connect it to the systems that already know who works for you.
In most organisations a new starter is set up three times: once in HR, once in IT and once by whoever looks after the door system. When they leave, the login is removed, the email is closed, and the building pass is often forgotten, because nobody owns it.
Multiply that across a few years of staff, contractors and cleaners, and most organisations can't say for certain who still has a way in.
Controllers, readers, electric strikes and magnetic locks, plus exit buttons and door sensors, so the system records what actually happened, not only what was allowed.
Cards, PINs and mobile credentials, so a phone can be the key. Biometrics are an option only where a privacy review supports them.
Access follows the role, not the person. A new manager gets the right doors from day one, and cleaners and contractors only have access during their hours.
Doors at every location are managed in one place, one credential works across all your sites, and local managers get only the permissions they need.
Visitor sign-in and video intercoms at the entry, so a door can be released remotely. Temporary credentials expire automatically, and access can be tied to a current site induction. More on visitor management under Building awareness.
Who went where and when, who can reach sensitive rooms and who approved it, plus alerts for forced doors, doors held open and out-of-hours attempts.

We connect access control to your HR system and your directory, so one change flows to both. The badge and the login start on the same day and stop on the same day, and the audit trail shows it.
Nueva Technology looks after the identity side and Nueva Secure looks after the doors, which is why we can offer this and a camera company can't. For Anytime Fitness, when someone leaves head office or a corporate club, one offboarding removes their accounts and their building pass.

A badge reader knows a card was used. It doesn't know how many people walked through. When the camera over the door and the access system work together, you get the full picture.
Tailgating alerts. The camera counts people through each badge read. If two people go through on one badge at a sensitive door, the right person gets an alert with the clip.
Every door event on video. Each badge, denied attempt, forced door or door held open is linked to its footage, so an investigation takes minutes instead of an afternoon.
Unusual activity flagged. Repeated denied attempts, a credential used out of hours, or a door that keeps being propped open are raised before they become a habit.
One action in an emergency. Lock down selected doors across a site from a phone or browser, and release them just as quickly.
Fewer things to carry. Badge in to disarm the alarm, and let a registered number plate open the car park gate.
We set up tailgating and activity alerts door by door, starting where the risk is highest. Busy entrances at peak times can produce false alerts, so we tune each door on site, and a person reviews every alert before anything happens.
A fail-safe door unlocks when it loses power. A fail-secure door stays locked. The first protects people getting out, and the second protects what's behind the door. Getting it wrong on the wrong door is a life-safety problem, not a preference.
Which doors get which is set by the fire, building and life-safety requirements for your building, and signed off through the certification process that applies to it. We design and install to that sign-off, and we don't take shortcuts on it.
Access projects usually start with an old panel and a drawer of cards nobody can account for. We can run the old system and the new one side by side, move doors across one at a time, reissue credentials in a controlled sweep, and switch off the old panel once every door has moved. Where your existing readers and cards are in good condition, we can often keep them. We'll compare that approach with a single changeover for your site, so you can choose.
Because we look after identity as well as doors, a departure removes the login and the building pass together.
The audit trail shows every change, who made it and when, so you can show your auditor rather than tell them.
Door controllers go on their own network segment, and the admin console is protected with multi-factor authentication. It's an administrative system and we treat it like one. If the network or internet drops, doors keep working for everyone who already has access, and new people can be added once the connection is back.
Start with the doors that matter most and add more over time. Higher-risk doors get a higher specification, and the rest stay simple.
Most organisations find the answer is broader than they expected. A free site security assessment includes a review of who holds credentials and what they can open.
